Honey sesame chicken

touse1A little chaos arrived to my kitchen lately. Something about not being able to get the right ingredients from the shops or something. Well, it does happen sometimes. It resulted in turning the menu a little bit upside down and checking in my cupboards for an alternative. It wasn’t very long until a dozen other ideas came up to my mind. In the end I decided to make myself a cup of tea and cook something tried I knew we both like. I don’t remember the first time I made it, but this sesame and honey chicken slowly becomes my quick fix for dinner when I have too many ideas and the hunger is still growing. The fact that it doesn’t require a lot of work and time is also a big plus!

Cook time: 30min                    To serve two you need:

4 tbsp of honey

2 tbsp of soy sauce

3 tsp sesame seeds

1 tbsp sesame oil

1 tbsp passata or ketchup

2 garlic cloves

few big champignions

400g chicken breasts

ca 100g flour for coating

300g broccoli

spring onionhschickenws

Cook the rice in accordance to the packaging. In the meantime peel the champignions and cut in fours. Roast the sesame seeds in a small pan and set aside. Wash the broccoli, divide into small florets and cook until soft. Wash the spring onion and cut into slices.

Rinse the chicken and cut in small pieces, salt and coat with flour. Heat a little bit of seasam oil and fry the chicken in it until golden brown. Add the chopped garlic and the mushrooms and stew for few minutes.

Mix the honey, soy sauce, passata and sesame oil in a bowl. Mix well and pour over the chicken and cook together for few minutes. Arrange the rice and the broccoli on the plate or in a bowl, add the chicken and mushroom, sprinkle with the roasted sesame and chopped spring onion and serve.shchicken3wssesamehoneyws2sesamchickenws
