Blogger Recognition Award

braws

So a few things happened lately. For one I tried my skills at making a cranberry sauce, which almost blew in my face (note to self- put the lid where you can actually see it! And reading a book while cooking-what were you thinking?). But aside of a containable mess it was pretty Ok, I guess. But I don’t think I’ll be doing it again any time soon :)

But the real highlight of the last couple of days was the fact that I have been nominated for a Blogger Recognition Award. That really made me smile, even more so, since that’s my first award.

So here are the rules:

  1. Thank the blogger who nominated you and link their web.
  2. write a post to show your award.
  3. give a short story of how your blog sarted.
  4. give 2 pieces of advice for new blogger.
  5. select 15 other bloggers that you would like to nominate.
  6. comment on the blogs and let them know that you have nominated them, and make sure you provide a link to the post you made about it.

I have been nominated by Nicolas, a fellow foodblogger of Blogtastic Food, who always makes me hungry and so jealous of his pictures! If you don’t know his blog yet, I sincerely recommend to check it out and to follow. Nicolas, thank you for nominating my humble blog!

A short story of how it all started? I have been thinking of a blog for a few years before I even started it. Since I’m far away from cooking only traditional food, and always the same, it’s been nagging me that everytime my conversations turned to food I couldn’t show for it. It mostly ended up “take a picture next time and show me”.

I thought of a place where I could share some of my recipes for my friends but also for myself. Where I wouldn’t have to search the whole internet for something I did two years ago. I thought a blog would be a perfect place for that. After all, it is kind of a diary. In the end, I created it as more of an experiment. To see what happens and how it all works. So far I only wonder, why didn’t I start it earlier?!

My two pieces of advice to new bloggers? Everyone says good content is very important. It is. But my advice is, choose something you’re passionate about, and write about it. Then creating good content will be more fun, and it will show that it comes from the heart. My other advice is quite simple. Go out there with your content and let other bloggers get to know you. Comment, like, share, make friends. It’s a huge blogger world out there-be part of it!

My nominees are:

  1. Hi Kate, thank you for nominating me :)
I enjoy reading your recipes because they are simple but dishes look so tasty on photos!
I’m definitely going to try some of them out after I stop being such a lazy ass :D

  2. Thanks for the nomination! :) It’s mind-boggling sometimes to hear that others really do read the words that I type, and I love to hear that you enjoy them. I haven’t been very good at connecting with other bloggers in the past, so I appreciate you pulling me into this wider world of people putting their ideas & thoughts on paper. Thanks!
