Celery cream soup

You know, there are some vegetables which when you see them, you immediately have an idea of what to do with it. Like a broccoli for example. When I think of broccoli, a broccoli soup, or a gratin or just plain boiled as a side dish come to my mind. It would be the same with the cauliflower, for which I shared quite few ideas of what to make with it. Or a sweet potato. Easy, right?

Potatoe and vegetable soup with minced meat

With my last post I was probably way too early and optimistic talking about picknicks. Since then we had one sunny day and the rest of the week was pretty winter-like weather. In a way it was my own fault as I could have expected it from April. In German there is a saying “April April der macht was er will”, which you could translate into April April it does what it wants or April weather: rain and sunshine both together. Very true!

My mother’s pickled cucumber soup

Over the years of cooking and tasting new things and flavours, my list of favourite dishes is steadily evolving. One thing however didn’t change. And it’s the love for this soup. Mushroom soup

Merry Christmas! Since yesterday in my kitchen reigns good known chaos again. The smells intersperse with each other, the sweet smell of the chocolate and gingerbreads and onions, mulled wine, fresh parsley and other spices.
